Short Film Using Single Camera Techniques

In class we were put into small groups of four, we were given a choice of 4-5 different scripts to look at and then later on produce our modern cover. I was put into a group of three, we all struggled to decide which script we were going to focous on so we all decided as a group that it was best if we split up and worked with other people purely because we all shared different opinions and had different views on things. This was for the best not only for ourselves but it would be easier to get the work done, and get the work done right!

I then went into a group of four making me the new member 5. We all easily decided that the angle script we wanted to focous on was 'away'. We had both boys and girls in our group, this was an advantage as it made it a lot easier and more realistic to act out. We highlighted all the main parts of the script and planned out where we wanted to film, who was doing what and what parts we were all saying.

The particular scene we were focoused on was a part for two males. Because of this myself and my peer Georgina, took on the role of director and filming. We took equal turns on sharing the camera while the other directed the script to the boys, it worked smoothly and it was a realy productive class. We worked well together and although we didn't know eachother that well we still made it work for the sake of the team.

If I was to do this again I would make sure we planned out when and where we were filming more! As a team we didn't decide on where exactly we wanted to film, we just found a place that suited us on the day. So if I were to film this again I would definitely improve the location planning.

Our film turned out to be a success
